Parkinson's Disease: Bollywood Dance Classes (Virtual)
Dates: Tuesday February 9, 16 & 23 and Tuesday March 2

Details: Move to the beat of the music in this fun and interactive Bollywood dance class tailored towards individuals with Parkinson’s Disease! This free, online 40-minute class is a Beginner dance class where individuals will learn basic dance moves to Bollywood and Bhangra music. This class will be taught by Registered Occupational Therapist, Gina Fernandez (certified PWR! Moves Therapist).
This moderate to high intensity class is open to both caregivers and clients with Parkinson’s disease, and is suitable for individuals at any mobility level (can be done seated or standing).

Utilizing both sides of the body by incorporating big movements
Improving balance, and strengthening muscles
Improving attention, memory and executive functioning through the memorization and planning of dance moves
Decreasing anxiety and “freezing of gait” while moving around in space, due to the relaxation that dance can provide
